the week's damage
yes it's been a long week. and what better evidence of a long week than to show the carnage from my quickly dwindling wine collection?
from left to right
• 05 tensley colson canyon syrah - magnificent santa ynez valley new world berry bomb of a syrah... amazing nose, big chocolatey fruit, long finish. love it!
• 04 seghesio san lorenzo zinfandel - initial opening was a little disappointing and flat but when i drank it the following night it revealed much more complexity.
• 04 seghesio passalacqua zinfandel - blackberries dipped in black pepper and horseradish. amazing.
• 03 ridge nervo zinfandel - started off tasting a little young but within an hour of breathing it turned into the best zin of the lot. ultra complex, finish that lasts forever. what you would expect from ridge.
• 01 hanna bismark ranch cabernet - again a little flat across the palate on initial opening but it opened up nicely into a smokey velvety cabernet that had awesome grass/leather hints.
more on my long week in a later post but suffice to say my work and my personal life has been kicking my ass lately... work to cope with the personal shit, drink to cope with the work shit. and then turn it all into a self-revealing web 2.0 anthropological study in an attempt to redeem myself in front of you all.
spoken like a true sociopath, right?
