Wine Library TV
i loves to drink me some wine. i'm not shy about that fact and everyone who knows me knows this about me. some have even threatened a beer intervention to throw me off my love affair with wine. feh! i see your measly pilsner and raise you a super tuscan! at any one time i may have 3 or 4 bottles open at once just to keep my palate titillated throughout an evening (hey, i lead a sheltered life... i need stupid things like this to keep me engaged).
but THIS GUY loves wine. not only does he love wine a lot... he seems to know A LOT about it. his descriptions of wine cut through a lot of the pretense and bullshit we associate with wine tasting - take for example when he describes one of the pinot noirs in the video above as smelling like a shoe with poop and celery rubbed in it... AND THAT'S PLEASING TO HIM!!!
he's unabashed and shameless in his descriptions and ratings. and he's extremely prolific in the amount of shows he produces from his wine shop on the east coast. all presented in a - i have to admit - very slick flash video player interface complete with tags and comments.
a refreshing and entertaining wine education... forget robert parker, steven tanzer or any of those other wine critics... i'm listening to gary vaynerchuk from now on.
