welcome to the caribbean
man, that bike ride and all of the diving yesterday wiped me out. i was asleep by 9 and didn't wake up til the alarm went off at 7. gym, brekky, tank analysis, and then back on the boat by 8:15. just like clockwork.
the dives tdoday were typically placid. there was a storm coming in so the water was a little more choppy ad the viz got compromized as a result (only 100+ as opposed to 200+ - boo hoo).
big sighting for me today was a big baby nurse shark resting in the hollow of a coral block. it just stayed there not moving an inch while we all took pictures of it. i wen around to the back of the block to get a look at it's size and got a chance to touch its skin - real rough... like sandpaper. i was expecting smooth and slimy. trippy.
brian and i decided to take the afternoon off and kayak around the protected lagoon just off shore. take a couple of beers with us... enjoy the afternoon without having to rush anywhere. around 2:30 it started to rain. and i mean rain. thunder. lightning. biblical rainstorm that didn't seem like it would ever stop. so we took cover at the bar with the rest of us that decided to sit the afternoon out and drank. there'll be plenty of time for bike rides and kayaking on thursday when we can't dive (no diving 24 hrs before the flight home - dive shop rules).
there was a house videographer that came along with us on the boat today taking footage of us jumping in, diving, bumping into each other, being buffoons. show time starts in about 20 minutes. should be funny.
